Oh hey! I'm Allie!

Hi! I'm Allie, the owner, designer and maker behind Stuck on You Crochet! I am mama to four cute little kiddos and wife to one awesome husband. I began crocheting as a creative outlet while in graduate school. I started slowly and really "got hooked" after having my first son. Three additional kids later and multiple attempts at making 'all the things,' I've branched out into pattern designing. I enjoy making items for children including hats, clothes, blankets, toys, nursery decor and more! I love designing new patterns and teaching others how to master making beautiful things! You can find me with baskets of WIPs strewn about the house and a list of "future projects" a mile long!

One of the most difficult AND most rewarding thing One of the most difficult AND most rewarding things about working from home has been working alongside my kiddos. 👦🏻👦🏻👧🏻👶🏻 I am so beyond blessed to be able to do what I do with them right there with me but… my brain is often scattered, my designs not always pushed out with a clear plan or schedule and my business growth a little bit slower. Tiny toys, little hands, a pressing question or need always in my line of work but I wouldn’t change it for the world ❤️ I’ve been lucky enough this year to work on a few collaboration designs and one of the most adorable things has been watching my daughter also come up with and draw her own proposals to submit for design campaigns. A tiny designer in the making maybe? Do you have tiny helpers alongside you as you work? They may cause some inefficiencies in my work day but they sure are the cutest and best support staff! 🤩

Somehow, Halloween ALWAYS sneaks up on me 🎃 This year, I’m determined to be one step ahead! I’m thrilled to be partnering with @hobbii_yarn on a new Halloween design for the #hobbiiboo campaign! I am working with Honey Bunny Candy on this design and I cannot wait to get started. ✨TESTERS✨ I’m looking for a few more tester ✨TESTERS✨ I’m looking for a few more testers for this Flora Crop Top! 🌸 I’m hoping to have some help with a wide range of sizing. My VIP tester group has been killing it with my recent test opportunities, but I’m looking to open this design up to test out the fit on a larger pool of kiddos! If you are interested, here are the important deets to know: - you’ll need size 4, preferably cotton yarn - hook will vary, based on size - test will run Sat June 7th to Wed June 25th - testers are asked to provide feedback on sizing/pattern and share at least one finished photo by the test deadline (does NOT have to be worn on the kiddo if you prefer not to share kids!) If you are interested, drop your name and age of the kiddo you’d like to test it out for in the comments below! Testers will be chosen and notified tomorrow! Note: I am primarily looking for ages 5+. It’s been a looooooong time coming but these Flo It’s been a looooooong time coming but these Flora squares are FINALLY getting their time on the workbench! I have this really bad habit of working up something new but taking zero notes while working it…and then getting slightly overwhelmed when it’s time to go back and figure it out 🤷🏻‍♀️ BUT, now that Maycember is over, there is finally some time to get back at it! 🤩 This design will be coming soon and in the meantime, the Flora Granny Square is free on the blog! Throwing it back today! Yesterday our second-bor Throwing it back today! Yesterday our second-born turned 8, which is hard to believe that it’s been eight years since we added his joyful little soul to our family. 🥰 It was only 6 months after he was born that we found out we were unexpectedly expecting. It was a confusing, overwhelming but also exciting time. And then three months later, we suddenly found that we were unexpectedly not expecting. Still confusing, still overwhelming, not at all exciting. In the grief and confusion afterwards, I designed this Rainbow Dreams Wall Hanger. My first design ever, it held both my grief and my hope. My thoughts, worries, prayers woven into each stitch. I didn’t have the courage to release my first design until a few years later so it’s been just over five years since this first pattern released. And my oh my, how things have changed! I’m so grateful for the blessings that my life has seen since this first design and odd though it may sound, I’m so thankful that crocheting has been a constant through it all. And most of all, I’m thankful for the community of makers that it led me to, ready to catch and embrace me wholeheartedly. Enough rambling from me for this #throwbackthursday but I hope that if you are struggling with the intertwining of grief and hope or just need a design to keep your heart and hands busy, you know that there is a whole community out here for you!
