FREE PATTERN: The Bobble Dot Bow
Well, a few days late but Happy March – better late than never with free pattern Friday! If you missed the excitement last week, my website decided to crash the night before I was set to release my free pattern Friday for the month… :/ I am a very NOT tech-savvy person so when things break, I don’t have a clue what I’m doing! Luckily I was able to talk to customer support over the weekend and they got me back up and running. I’m definitely supposed to now update something but if only I could remember the something….!
Anyways, onto more exciting things! The Bobble Dot Bow was one of the very first bobble patterns that I released and a precursor to the bobble buddy patterns! It has been a well-loved project that works up quickly and makes an adorable little accessory so I thought it would be perfect for this month’s free pattern!
The bow is created first and then can be added to an alligator clip or nylon headband. I like to add them to allligator clips and use them as accessories for bobble buddies, which then double as sweet little hair bows for customers! The pattern is written using a 2.75 mm hook and Lionbrand Truboo yarn, but you can adjust the yarn type and hook size accordingly to achieve different bow sizes. As written, the bows end up about 3 inches by 1.5 inches.
Below is the FREE pattern for the Bobble Dot Bow or it is available as a pdf for a small cost on Etsy or Ravelry. The pdf download includes helpful photo tutorials for your project! The bobble dot bow also pairs perfectly with the Easter bobble buddies, which are available with a bundle discount! I’d love for you to share your projects with me on Instagram or Facebook – tag me with #stuckonyoucrochet for a chance to be featured!

BOBBLE STITCH (bobble):
To make a bobble stitch you will work multiple double crochets into the same stitch.
To begin, yarn over and insert hook into the stitch. Yarn over and draw up a loop. This leaves three loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through the first two loops (two loops left on hook).
Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch. Yarn over and draw up a loop, leaving four loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through the first two loops (three loops left on hook).
Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch. Yarn over and draw up a loop, leaving five loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through the first two loops (four loops left on hook).
Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch. Yarn over and draw up a loop, leaving six loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through the first two loops (five loops left on hook).
Yarn over and pull through the five loops on the hook. Pull stitch tightly and it will create a bobble. You can choose to make the bobbles on the right or the wrong side of your project, just make sure they are on the outside of the body when finished.

Row 7: Sc across x 33. Continue to finishing instructions.
FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS:
To finish off your bow, you will sc around the edges as described below. Be sure to put 2 sc in each corner. You will have to create your own stitches in the spaces along the short edges.
After finishing the rows above, sc down the short edge of your bow. You will place 6 stitches along this edge. Continuing around the bow, place 33 stitches across the long edge. Repeat 6 stitches along the opposite short edge and finish with 33 stitches across the opposite long edge. Ch 1.
Fold your bow in half, with the bobbles facing each other.
Holding the edges together, single crochet both sides together x 8 stitches.
Leaving a long tail, cut your yarn and tie off. The tail is what you will use to wrap the middle of your bow, so be sure to leave it long enough! Wrap the tail 20-25 times around the middle of your bow to create the center. Tie off and weave in the ends. Attach to clip or headband!
