BLOCK THREE: The Puff Stitch

Moving right along to Block Three in our Stitchwork Scarf – the puff stitch! This is a textured stitch that creates raised bumps or puffs across the work to give an interesting and unique texture.

There are different ways to create a puff stitch and the number of “yarn overs” can be used to create larger or smaller puffs. In this block, we will yarn over a total of 4 times to end with 9 loops on the hook to pull through. However, if you are using bulkier or double stranded yarn and find this too thick, you may yarn over a total of 3 times to end with 7 loops on the hook to decrease the bulk of the stitch.

If you need more help with this stitch, see THIS tutorial or the step-by-step photos below!
