Checkered CAL Week Four

Well, I’m not sure how we’ve gotten here so quickly but believe it or not…it’s Week FOUR!!
Week Four and the last week of our CAL! This week too k me by storm as we had a busy schedule AND I ended up sick on top of it all. Some weeks are just like that! But, I have been loving seeing everyone’s checkered vests and cardis come together. There’s about to be some cuuuuteee fall wearables in the rotation!
If you are just getting going, start here, with the crochet-a-long overview and then move on to the Week One instructions here! By the end of week one, you should have worked through the first 25 rows of the baby sized projects or the first 30 rows of the child sized projects! After Week One, add your back panel and front panels in Week Two here! Then, head to Sleeve City in Week Three!
Remember, if you still need a pattern, you can grab them on Etsy and use the code CHECKEREDCAL to save 25% on ALL checkered wearable patterns and mods. Find the patterns here and click the “wearables” section from the left-side menu to make them easy to find.
The Checkered CAL posts and the CHECKEREDCAL discount code will remain active through October 12th, the last day of our crochet-a-long! If you’d like your finished wearable to be shared in a group reel on Instagram, be sure to send your photo and tag anew to me before the deadline!
Special congratulations to @mamoocrochet who is our week three “wheel of names” winner! The Week Three giveaway is the The Halloween Bitty Bundle #1. Week Two’s giveaway is The Halloween Bitty Bundle #2. Don’t miss your shot at adding these bitty spooky pals to your halloween lineup! If you share your project progress this week and tag me, you’ll be entered with a chance to win!

This week is another week of simple instructions – just the edging! If you’ve made it through Sleeve City, this week will feel easy!
There are a couple of options for the edging. The cardi instruction have crab stitch edging around the front and ribbed edging around the bottom. If you want a faster edging and shorter length, you can work the crab stitch around the entirety of the project instead of the ribbed edging on the bottom. If you want more width across the front of your project, you could work the ribbed edging around the entirety of the project to give a couple more inches across the front! Mix and match to see what works best for your wearable!
Adult modifications are not much different than what is listed in the pattern, you’ll just have a different stitch count! The basic idea, however, is the same!
Alright, that’s all for week four! Can’t wait to see these wearables all finished up!
