The Glow Check Set

Turn up the color, turn up the confidence! Today, I’m bringing some pizzazz to your cold winter weather wear with The Glow Check Set: a FREE checkered crochet pattern! This set was designed in collaboration with Hobbii Yarns as part of their #glowupcampaign and you can find both patterns as free downloadable pdfs!

The Glow Check set is a bold and playful crochet pattern set featuring a bright, checkered beanie and matching mittens designed to make cold days feel electric. With eye-catching color blocks and a cozy fit, this set is all about standing out while staying warm.

Inspired by retro ski vibes and street-style cool, the pattern pairs graphic checks with vibrant hues for a modern twist on classic winter wear. The Glow Check Set is worked with tapestry crochet color changes, making this pattern more suitable for intermediate or advanced crocheters.

For this set, I wanted something iridescent and bright so Hobbii’s Pearly Haze line fit the bill perfectly! The colors are so fun and the combinations that could be made, endless! The yarn has a slightly tubular feel to it, making it soft and easy to work with. One caveat…it does NOT love to be frogged as it likes to stick to itself. But, who wants to frog a project anyways! The combo pictured features Pearly Haze in Black Currant and Pearl. But the best thing about theses patterns…?

…they can work with any worsted weight yarn! If you aren’t a fan of Pearly Haze, Hobbii has an impressive collection of yarn lines that would make excellent choices for this project! I worked up another hat for our youngest son (had to match his winter coat!) and this one uses Amigo XL. Bright, bold and durable!
